Getting Started with Site Templates
Site Templates are Kadence child themes that install like any WordPress theme, but they also import a complete website with pages, settings, and design.
Before you begin
Fresh WordPress installation required
Site Templates are designed for a fresh WordPress site. The child theme imports pages, Customizer settings, and design configurations, which can overwrite your existing content and theme settings on a live site.
If you already have an existing site but want to use a Site Template design, set up the template on a separate or local WordPress install first, then manually copy over only the elements you need. For KickStarter specifically, use the dedicated workflow for existing sites described in the KickStarter documentation.
Required theme
The Kadence Theme (free) has to be installed.
Required plugins
Every Site Template requires these plugins:

Kadence Blocks (free)

Kadence Starter Templates plugin (free)
Depending on the template, you may also need:
- Kadence Blocks Pro — required for Combat Sports, Temp Agency, and Over-Ear One (discount provided with purchase)
Optional plugins
Some templates support optional plugins for specific features. Install these during the setup process so their pages display correctly:

Combat Sports — The Events Calendar (free) for the schedule/events page

Temp Agency — WP Job Openings (free) for the job openings page
If you skip an optional plugin during setup, the corresponding page will not show dynamic content. You can always install the plugin later and configure it manually.
Installation
Set up WordPress and plugins
Start with a fresh WordPress installation. Install and activate the Kadence Theme and the Kadence Starter Templates plugin. If your chosen template requires Kadence Blocks Pro or any optional plugins such as The Events Calendar or WP Job Openings, install and activate those as well. You'll find all required and optional plugins listed on each template's product page and in the included setup guide.
Download the child theme
Log in to your WP Templater Account and open the Downloads section. Download the Site Template child theme zip file to your computer.
Upload and activate
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. Select the child theme zip file you downloaded, click Install Now, and then click Activate to switch your site to the new child theme.
Follow the setup guide
Each Site Template includes a step-by-step setup guide that walks you through importing the demo content and configuring the recommended settings. Follow the guide to complete the import and base configuration for your site.
Customize
After the import completes, your website will be live with all demo pages and settings in place. Replace the demo text and images with your own content, and adjust colors, fonts, and branding to match your style.
After installation
Once your Site Template is installed and configured, you can:

Customize the design — Adjust colors, fonts, and layout options in the Kadence Customizer.

Edit page content — Open any page in the block editor and replace the demo content with your own copy and media.

Add Block Templates — Use your WP Templater Block Templates subscription to insert additional sections into any page via the Kadence Design Library.

Add new pages — Create new pages as needed; the theme settings and global styles from the child theme apply automatically.
